The gameplay isn't anything special in either of those games and the games didn't need to be games at all. So take The Last Of Us and Uncharted for example. My biggest issue with story heavy games is that they try too hard to be movies and end up being boring because of it. And Holowka also did the music which is incredible. The game in general has a very unique atmosphere. It's cute but still has that uneasy feeling the characters are experiencing. There's also the cartoonish art style that adds to the charm. What's interesting is that there's no voice acting throughout the entire game but you connect so well to these characters because they're so well written. They all have their own personal problems and you can do various activities with them to get to know them more. Every character is vastly different and they are all memorable and lovable for different reasons. During her return to town, things are clearly not right as people start to go missing and that's when Mae and her friends start to find out some dark secrets about Possum Springs. However, they have all moved on and have matured. Angus, Gregg's boyfriend and a quiet individual. The plot follows Mae, a twenty year old college drop out who moved back to her home town of Possum Springs and wants to hang out with her friends: Gregg, a problem starter who was Mae's best friend in school. What makes this game truly phenomenal is the story. It's easy to get the hang of and easy to remember after you stay off the game for a long period of time. The actual gameplay, while not anything special, is tight and engaging throughout. Night In The Woods is a story driven indie game that tackles mature and realistic themes about mental illness while telling a captivating and creative story with interesting and three dimensional characters.
